“Sleigh bells ring…” Are you listening? The holiday season is rapidly approaching. We can already see it and will soon hear the evidence of it too, but in the past, we would have been in our worry and wonder phase.
This was the phase where we began to wonder who would be spending the holidays with us. We worried about the children who needed assurance that Santa could and would find him or her. We worried about the mother who was at that very moment weighing the risk of leaving an abusive partner and what that would mean to her children, particularly at this time of year. We worried about trying to keep the joy of the holidays for families in crisis.
YOU helped solve our worry dilemma decades ago when you called and asked how you could help the families living at Friendship Home have a wonderful holiday. You brought gifts, food and goodwill. Your natural instinct to reach out became the foundation of our Sponsored Family Program and as Friendship Home has grown so has your capacity to be generous.
If you would like to share or renew the pleasure of creating hope for those who may have lost it; reassure children that Santa finds every child and be a source of inspiration for those who are trying to rebuild their lives; then please call Rainey, Volunteer Coordinator at 402-437-9367 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell her you want to be part of this incredible group who hold the welfare of others as dear as they hold their own.
The last day to donate Holiday gifts is December 21st.
